Being part of a photography club offers great opportunities. For example, being able to access locations out of hours, and the chance to get those shots you just can’t get when they are open to the general public. Thursday 1st August was Wingrave Photographic Interest Club’s trip to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, and what a night! The temperature was over 30C, with clear skies, and the setting sun created some great shadows and contrasts. Although I shoot in RAW, I keep my camera on monochrome settings when I know I want to create B&W images, increasingly this is most of the time. I want to take pictures that need minimal processing, although I’ve added the hint of Sepia in Photoshop as I think the camera setting is a bit too strong for my liking.
