If you visit Rushmere Country Park on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard at the moment, you’ll see a large number of Heron’s who are nesting in the woods.  While my Dad observed and I was dragged off to the slide with my son (hence no action shots!), a Hawk started circling one of the trees, the adult Heron’s then took off and circled the tree en-masse to protect the nests.  The Hawk withdrew, but not too far away.  This image shows one of the Heron’s keeping a close eye on things after the event.
